A golf course on the plain on the edge of Toulon
The Golf de Valgarde, built to the delight of locals and holidaymakers in the Toulon area, is named after the two towns behind the project, La Garde and La Valette.
The course was designed by Didier Truchet in 1991 and covers 60ha along the plain opening the horizon from Mont Faron to the Maures mountain range.
The terrain may be flat but the many water hazards on the course don’t make it any less challenging. It is a slightly tactical course but it’s still highly suitable for beginners. The site has also been well-designed for training with good facilities including a driving range with 55 bays and 1000m² of greens. Ideal for ensuring you don’t lose your touch or for using your break to make progress.
A pleasant stop on the way to your holiday
The welcoming and tastefully decorated clubhouse owes its winning atmosphere to Patrick Guigues, the Saint-Tropez interior designer who fully renovated it in 2010.La Terrasse du Golf de Valgarde restaurant is just as welcoming with Southern French dishes served under the shade of its large parasols.
The Golf de Valgarde is in the perfect setting between Mont Faron and its incredible views over “the most beautiful harbour in Europe” and the Giens peninsula where you can set off to the Iles d’Or. So treat yourself, experience a slice of Toulon old town in the morning before heading for the teeing area and setting sail for Porquerolles at the end of the day…Anything is possible!
